What's New?  

I am very excited about my middle grade novel Slant, which came out in the fall of 2008 from Milkweed Editions.  This is a story about Lauren, who was adopted from Korea, and how she deals with the teasing she gets in school because of her Asian looks and with the death of her mother.  Although it deals with painful issues, it is not a depressing book!  In fact you can read an excerpt and judge for yourself before you run out and buy it! :-)

I am very excited about the publication of Father Damien, which I wrote and worked on for several years.  It will be published in the fall of 2009 by Island Heritage, which is a subdivision of The Madden Corporation.  The publication of my book will coincide with Father Damien becoming a saint on October 11, 2009.

In the spring of 2010 I have a picture book coming out with Lee and Low Books, tentatively called The Can Man.  I'll update you with any information as I hear about it...
